Individual Counseling for Teens
Being a teenager today is a lot. Between school pressure, friend drama, social media, family stuff, and just figuring out who you are — it makes sense if things feel overwhelming sometimes. You don't have to have it all figured out, and you definitely don't have to go through it alone.
At Wildflower Counseling & Coaching, we work with teens (ages 14+) who are looking for a space where they can talk freely, without being judged, lectured, or told how to feel. This is your space.
A Safe Space to Just Be You
Who This Is For
This service is designed for teens who are:
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or "not like themselves"
Struggling with confidence or self-esteem
Navigating friendship or relationship drama
Dealing with a big change — a move, a breakup, a new school, family changes
Having a hard time managing big emotions
Just needing someone outside their family or friend group to talk to
You don't need a "big reason" to start therapy. Feeling stressed, stuck, or just kind of off is reason enough.
Areas of Focus
We provide support for:
Anxiety — racing thoughts, worry, or that constant on-edge feeling
Depression — low mood, low energy, or losing interest in things you used to enjoy
Self-esteem — building real confidence, not just faking it
Life transitions — new schools, family changes, growing up faster than you'd like
Stress & burnout — school pressure, activities, and never getting a break
Emotional regulation — learning how to handle big feelings without them taking over
Relationship challenges — friendships, family, dating, and everything in between
A Note to Parents
We know it can feel nerve-wracking to hand your teen off to someone else, even for an hour. Here's what you should know: your teen's sessions are their space to be honest, which means what's discussed stays largely between us — with the exception of any safety concerns, which we'll always loop you in on. We'll keep you appropriately informed on progress without breaking your teen's trust, because that trust is what makes therapy actually work.
Our Therapeutic Approach
Every teen is different, so we tailor our approach using a mix of evidence-based methods:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — spotting unhelpful thought patterns and learning how to shift them
Solution-Focused Therapy — focusing on real, doable next steps instead of just talking in circles
Person-Centered Therapy — no judgment, no lectures — just genuine support
Mindfulness — simple tools to calm anxiety and stay grounded in the moment
Strength-Based Therapy — building on what you're already good at, instead of just focusing on what's "wrong"
Trauma-Informed Care — making sure every session feels safe, no matter what you've been through
What to Expect
Your first session is really just a chance to get to know each other — no pressure to spill everything on day one. We'll talk about what's going on, what you want to get out of therapy, and go from there at whatever pace feels right for you.
Sessions typically run 50–60 minutes, usually weekly to start.
